Horseback Riding

About two weeks ago, I did something I have not done since I was six...Went horseback riding! I have always loved horses and thought they were the coolest animals on God's earth. The first time I ever went, I was, as I said, about six, and that time the workers walked us around a little pin the whole time.

This time was nothing like that time! They told us how to place our feet, how to go, turn, and then let us go in the pin. It was SO much fun!

All the horses on the ranch were rescued. That is something I really liked about the place. The manager was great too!

Gentleman
Insignia (I think that's how it's spelled)
Joker
Jazzy

This is what we were riding through

We went on a Thursday, Saturday, and Monday.

Thursday we were out there for twenty minutes, walking the whole time. It was fun, but we were all looking forward to maybe cantering.

Saturday was the most fun! Our guide was a little more wild than the last one. We were not out there for more than two minutes when she said, "Looks like we're going to get some rain." Ten seconds later, it started pouring! So, we ended up galloping through the woods, getting soaked, dodging spiders the size of our heads! We had to come in early because we didn't want to horses to get spooked.

Monday, we had two guides, and it was a good thing. We had been out for about thirty minutes when we came to a clearing by a small pond with reeds knee high. Out of nowhere, hornets swarmed us. The poor horses got stung so many times and started getting spooked. Rachel, my friends younger sister, was stung on the hand, I was stung on the leg, and the two guides were stung. Lauren's (Sloan's other sister) horse even took off! The reins got slung over the horses head to where she couldn't get them. The guide quickly caught up with her and stopped the horse. They started saying that they were so proud of us because no one fell off.

All in all, it was so much fun and I just now got the time to blog about it. Hope you enjoyed it!

Gianna Jessen

Just about thirty minutes ago, I got through reading the biography of Gianna (pronounced GE-on-ah) Jessen, a girl who was aborted and lived. The book is simply called Gianna by Jessica Shaver. And it's not just a story, this really happened. She was born in 1977.

I don't blog about too many books, but this one I really want to write about. It made me laugh, cry, get angry, the works! I don't want to give too much away, but I just wanted to say that this is a really great book. And it's cool because she went to a Calvary Chapel!

For more information about Gianna, go to her website.

The song you hear is her singing too! She is pretty good. Her biography is on the website too, but the book told the story of her mother and foster mother as well.
I just wanted to tell people about this book and how great it was! If you decide to read it, it is really great!
I found this video on YouTube of Gianna speaking out on abortion on February 1, 2008.
