Temporary Home

OK, even if you're not a country music fan, you have GOT to listen to this new song by Carrie Underwood. I just listened to it and am STILL crying (the good kind of crying)! The lyrics to the song are below.

Little boy, 6 years old
A little too used to bein' alone
Another new mom and dad, another school
Another house that'll never be home
When people ask him how he likes this place
He looks up and says with a smile upon his face

"This is my temporary home
It's not where I belong
Windows and rooms that I'm passin' through
This is just a stop, on the way to where I'm going
I'm not afraid because I know this is my
Temporary Home."

Young mom on her own
She needs a little help got nowhere to go
She's lookin' for a job, lookin' for a way out
Because a half-way house will never be a home
At night she whispers to her baby girl
Someday we'll find a place here in this world

"This is our temporary home
It's not where we belong
Windows and rooms that we're passin' through
This is just a stop, on the way to where we're going
I'm not afraid because I know this is our
Temporary Home."

Old man, hospital bed
The room is filled with people he loves
And he whispers don't cry for me
I'll see you all someday
He looks up and says "I can see God's face"

"This is my temporary Home
It's not where I belong
Windows and rooms that I'm passin' through
This was just a stop,on the way To where I'm going
I'm not afraid because I know this was
My temporary home."

This is our temporary home

Question to Contemplate......

I just got done with my World History class for today. I was learning about the Middle Ages. For the assignment, I had to answer a simple question:

Do you thing the Middle Ages should be called the Dark Ages?

It really had me contemplating. I had to simply answer yes or no, then my reason for choosing that answer. But I was stuck. Yes, I believe the Middle Ages should be called the Dark Ages; it was a time of wars, plagues, sickness, dividing of the Church, etc. But no, because there was a time of the Church, they had a great ruler named Charlemagne who did some great things, he didn't let the power go to his head.

I was stuck like a rock in a hard place (is that how the expression goes?). I eventually decided yes, the Middle Ages should be called the Dark Ages because, though there was good things in that time, there were more bad.

But I want to know other peoples thoughts. So go ahead and share your thoughts with me!

I found out not even a minute ago that by brothers band will not be playing with Ayiesha Woods. It's sad but I'm sure there will be another opportunity for them...Hopefully soon!

Ayiesha Woods + BGB........Hopefully.......

Have you ever heard of the Christian singer Ayiesha Woods? I just found out about her a little while ago. By brothers told me about her because they might have the chance to open up for her at a concert on December 19!

A woman who is really trying to help them out told them she was going to try and get the gig for them (which could REALLY help them out!) but there were other bands that other people brought up so they are going to draw names.

The family and the band are praying that they're picked. There is nothing more powerful than prayer, so please pray with us that the boys will get picked and, if not, then there will be another opportunity for them.

Here is the band MySpace (they did the background themselves!): http://www.myspace.com/bgb91

Here is an awesome song by Ayiesha Woods that I found on YouTube.
