Good writers define reality; bad ones merely restate it. A good writer turns facts into truth; a bad writer will, more often than not, accomplish opposite. ~ Edward Albee
Earlier I was making scones because I'm babysitting tonight and I wanted the little boy I'm watching to have a little treat. There's one part in the recipe that calls for two sticks of butter. You have to "cut in the butter," as the recipe says. I've discovered that it's easier to put it in the microwave for a few seconds, because cutting butter sticks can get hard. So, I put them in for 25 seconds. Well, I got a little distracted by Lucy for the bit of time. When I heard the microwave "ding," I went over to it. Come to find out, 25 seconds was a little too long. Melted butter was ALL OVER the saucer! It all worked out in the end, after I got the last two butter sticks that my mom bought today. I'm just happy that I'll be able to take him a special treat along with one of my favorite movies when I was younger!!
This is one of the most BEAUTIFUL videos I have EVER seen! Take five minutes and please watch it! It will bring you to tears...And pay close attention to the girl at the end...
The other day I was at PetSmart (I still don't know is it's that or PetsMart =) and I was shopping for Lucy. I was looking in the sale toys when I saw the Democrat donkey. My family is Republican so I got excited and started looking for the Republican elephant. When I finally found one, I looked at the price and I was happy because it was only $2.00!! I went ahead and got it for her. I also got two other stuffed toys. They had Halloween stuff there, too. We don't celebrate Halloween but they had this SUPER cute princess hat that I almost got. It was a good thing I didn't because I know that she would NOT wear it for more than three seconds! But here is a picture of "The Republican Dog!"
Training Lucy has been hard. Right now, we're focused on kennel and potty training. She getting better with both but I don't have a lot of patience. The first night was HORRIBLE!! She was in her crate, yelping ALL NIGHT! And the crate is in my room! I got about four or five hours of sleep, then woke up at five o'clock. I took her out to "go" but she didn't have to, or so I thought...I got back to my room and sat on my bed with her in my lap. After turning on the T.V. to help keep me awake, I let her have free run of my bed. Next thing I know, she's "going" on the quilt my grandma gave me! All I could do was stare. Then, once the shock went away, I, reluctantly, got up and went to the bathroom to get a towel. I was falling asleep all day the next day.
But aside from the "going" everywhere in the house (which she is getting better about) and the whining when she is in her crate and can't see me, she is such a joy to me and the rest of the family. We all love Little Lucy (or as I like to call her, Little Miss Crazy). It is hard training a puppy. But at the same time, I feel like I am growing Spiritually and learning more patience.
But letpatiencehave its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.
This is a song by a favorite band of mine called Superchick. They have a good sound and are Christian. They have an awesome song called "Hero" that talks about doing what is right by other people instead of trying to "fit in" with the crowd around you. A little while ago, I was on YouTube and wanted to look the band and song up. I found one of the best and truest videos you will ever see! I was in tears by the time the video ended. I just wanted to share it with you.
