Evolution of Beauty - Dove Campaign for Real Beauty

I just thought I would share this.

Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.

Life of Faith: Elsie Dinsmore Series

At the insistence of a great friend, I read the book series, "Life of Faith: Elsie Dinsmore." I will admit, I was a little unsure about them at first. They were written by Martha Finley in the mid 1800's. But, never the less, read them I did and I can honestly say that they are some of the BEST books I have ever read! The series is about a girl named, you could guess, Elsie Dinsmore. The series begin when she is eight years old, to when she is forty and married to a GREAT guy named Edward and has her own children. To explain the books would take to long, but for people who like, and even don't like, to read, I would STRONGLY suggest this series!

Bro is Back

Hey people. My brother got back last night, and I can tell that he was tired. He is such a good brother that he brought me home a BEAUTIFUL necklace and my mom a pottery plate.

He told me that he got to meet a monkey too!! I saw a picture and it was SO cute!! But I don't think that the monkey liked the guy Sam was with...He also got a picture of an elephant and a picture of our pastor with a warthog! (Those things are UGLY, Sam said! This is not the picture he took though)

See?? Even Pumba is shocked!

Sam is happy to be home though. He brought home a drum that my dog, Lucy, didn't like very much! She was barking and barking at it! It was so FUNNY!!
God did an amazing work in Ghana. The chief at one of the villages they stayed at even got saved! That is totally awesome!
I gotta hear more about the trip before I can post more. Maybe Sam will let me load his pictures onto my computer and you guys can see some of the pictures he took. But for now, God bless!

Updates...

I haven't been able to blog in a while but here I go...

So far this month, one of my brother's (Sam) has gone to Ghana with a mission team from our church. They start heading home tomorrow and will land in Orlando airport Saturday evening. We have heard from him three times. My mom talked to him twice, my dad once (today) and I shortly spoke with him today too. It was funny because the team took a satellite phone and when he calls the caller ID says "UNKNOWN NAME, UNKNOWN NUMBER." I picked up and, after saying hello, all I heard was a weird squeaking sound. I hung up and the phone rang about two minutes later, the caller ID saying the same thing. I picked up and heard the same noise, but something told me to stay on. I said hello again and then I heard my name being said, but brokenly. Then it was clearer. I knew it was Sam, but said hello again anyway. Then he said, "Ann?" I said yeah, and then he said "hi." It's so funny how he says it. It's like, "hiii." (it's hard to explain in writing!) But my mom wasn't home at the time and my dad was so I handed the phone to my dad. After a few minutes, they hung up and my dad told me that Sam said he was craving pizza really bad! He said that was the first thing he wanted when he got home! But, I wouldn't tell him, but I'm looking forward to him getting home...So he can give me another guitar lesson!

That's another thing. I have been learning to play the guitar! So far, I know the main scale, the G note and the D. But I am ready to go on!!

Something else is that I am caught up in my English class, about a week behind in my Fitness and Lifestyle Design (can you say TOTAL WAIST OF TIME?!?!) and about two weeks AHEAD in my Spanish class!! I'm happy about that! So now, when I have to babysit during the day or a friend wants to hang out, then I don't have to worry about it so much.

But yeah, that's what's going down in my life so far and I am lovin' it! (Ba-da-ba-ba-ba, I'm lovin' it!) Don't worry, I'm scared too!! But please enjoy the nice pictures below! God bless!

My Super Depressing Poem

OK, so, for English today, I was learning about poetry and the visual aspects that go along with it. Then, I had to write a depressing poem. I couldn't think of anything at first, but then, I thought of this! So everyone, get ready for my super depressing poem!

A Teen Without Music

What is a teen without music?

Will it be like a cat in the dishwasher,
Crying to be let out?

Will it be like rain,
With nowhere to fall?

Or maybe someone who forgot to wear their glasses,
Bumping into walls?

Bump, bump
